intro to documentary production
Five Things I Saw Today
I saw California. I saw little pieces of it flying by out my airplane window at 3 in
the morning. It was fast and bright and I missed it before the plane wheels had left
I saw a cat. Someone got off the plane in Houston with a cat in its carrier. I remembered hearing the cat yelling when I got on the plane in California and thinking it was nice
to know that I’m not the only Cat afraid of airplanes.
I saw snow. Yesterday I was on the beach and it was 73 degrees. Today, I got home
and it was 50 degrees colder and there was snow on the ground that I saw fall
last week before I left.
I saw my bed. I only slept on airplanes last night. I let myself have 10 minutes of
rest when I got home before I went to work. I can’t wait to get home tonight and
cuddle up in my own bed under my own blankets.
I saw my phone. I called my mom for the first time since before I left last Friday and
it was so nice to hear her voice. I was home for almost a month over break and
it’s strange being away from my family again.
